Internal Link Structure

Probably the biggest part of internet marketing that people focus on is link building. You need links to your site to show the search engines that you have content that deserves to be seen. Just because you make a page on something doesn't mean Google is going to send you anything. There has to be proof of quality and that means people have to feel the need to link to it. That is basically a "vote" that you have content worth viewing.

And in a nutshell this is the core of how to make cash online for beginners. What is often overlooked is the internal link structure of your website. The way that you link from page to page and back to your homepage. Many people don't know how to do this properly and for that reason they don't get the maximum benefit out of it. I want to point out that internal link structure is very important.

What I've concluded is that internal linking should be done no differently than external linking. As you can see in the previous paragraph I linked back to my original site with my cool keyword text. If I did that every single page for hundreds of pages it just wouldn't look natural. You should be sending it back to your homepage, but also around to other posts.

Think of it this way, if you pass a link to another post that actually links back to your homepage, it all passes "juice" forward. If you have a page on your site that you really want to rank for a keyword, you can build a little link wheel that all internally link to that page. So as you externally link to all the pages, all the juice passes onto the page you really want to rank.

This isn't an overly difficult concept to understand. The link wheel page that I linked to has a graph to show you what I mean. A link wheel is considered powerful for external linking, but I don't see too many people using it as an internal link structure even though it works too.

I guess this is really all I wanted to say with this post. Building a site requires external links and they're obviously the most important. But with internal linking you can really help out your pages a lot and there is much for you to experiment with. Anything that makes it easier to rank for a keyword is going to help you make cash online and there is every reason to want that.

How to Choose Article Directories to Submit to

I'm writing this blog post on a bit of a spontaneous note right now. I find myself in a sour mood for wasting a little bit of my time. Submitting to article directories is an easy and efficient way to gather backlinks. I'm sure you're already aware of some of the big boys that exist, but if you haven't already heard of them I made a little list for you.

When you're starting out these three article directories and maybe a few more will sustain you. You'll have no need for anymore, but I need more. When I'm building an authority site I need to have access to a lot of different sites that I can get a solid back link from and I need that links to come from various IP#s. I can't have the same sites linking to all my pages because that stops providing results after so many.

So what I do is branch out to other directories that are smaller and less known. I think it is great to find these directories because there are a lot of untapped sites out there. One of them could very well become a major player, so it is a good idea.

Yesterday and today I was going through a lot of old directories only to realize that a lot of them are marginalized. This is a term I came up with, so don't Google it or anything. I define this concept as when your site is essentially marginalized. You're deindexed, or anything. You're just never rank for anything and you're lucky if you get 10 hits a month from the big G. It's a real pain in the butt when you try to make cash online as a beginner.

Anyway article directories like this don't index pages. I used to be a bum marketer and I submitted to 100+ small and minor article directories as a trial (or test). I had all of them saved in my favorites and they were there for some time. I had my regular folder that contained the main article directories I submit too and I had a trial directory with over 100 sites in it.

They've been sitting in their for over a year untouched, but out of all days, yesterday I decided I was going to go through them all. I viewed each site with SEOQuake on to get a load of the site stats. What I noticed was that there were were a few monster sites (Yippie!), but the vast majority were useless. There were quite a few directories I couldn't get into my account for because I either didn't remember my password (yeah right) or they deleted it. I'd go to an article directory and the directory would claim to have 25,000 articles and SEOQuake would show 300 indexed pages in Google. This is a prime example of what I mean by marginalized. Submitting an article here is useless because your article will never be indexed.

This process wouldn't of annoyed me so much if I hadn't touched these directories on a minor basis. Sometimes when I have an article to submit I'll go into my trial folder and grab a site that looks promising to submit too. One of these sites I did it for lately wouldn't index my articles. In fact, I sent additional links to the article itself and it still hasn't indexed. *WASTE*. Another directory I submitted too, I found was BANNED from Google. It was not indexed in Google.

I had to go back and correct everything that I done of late, but anything that was old wasn't corrected. I guess this comes down to my own carelessness. You really need to keep track of the article directories that you should be submitting too and know that they're performing. And a big part of performing is indexing your articles.

I wanted to show you how to choose article directories to submit to because you might run into the problem I have. It's frustrating and a waste of time when you have to go back to fetch articles. Trust me on the spreadsheet. It will keep you inline for making cash online and as long as you keep it updated you'll be fine.

Are There a 1000 Ways to Make Money Online?

When it comes to how you make cash online you're going to hear a lot of theories on the subject from a lot of different people. I think the basic fact is that you have a lot of options available to you and with the diversity of people out there, you're going to find a lot of people doing their own thing and that leads to a lot of different ways to make cash. I thought I could spend a little time discussing with you about the different ways that are out there to help you make a little more than you are right now.

Some people claim that there are a 1000 ways to make money online and I have to agree with that type of aggressive claim. When you apply all the little twists to methods you're going to find a lot of different variations. What I'm going to go into is some of the different methods that I have personally tried and used to make money. I'm sure some of them have made me a lot of money and some of them struggled to make any at all. But I guess you deserve to know what they are.

One of the very first things I tried was a concept known as bum marketing. This is basically the "cheap" man's way of earning cash online, hence the name "bum". The process is very aggressive and requires you to write 30 articles day, each day and every day. The philosophy is using the authority of other sites to drive traffic to your site and make cash. I have to say that this works. As long as you're pumping out the articles every day, it is next to impossible to not earn something. It just requires you to put in the commitment.

The big problem with this type of method, at least for me, is that it only seems to have a beneficial factor in the short term and when you're pumping out 30 articles a day, you don't really have any other time to work on things like SEO and link building (which are the long term aspects of making cash online). Even though I'm not a fan of this method, there are still a lot of people that do it each day and think it is the best thing. It is one of a 1000 ways to make money online and it's one of the ways that I started out doing, but no longer do it.

Another way to make cash online is through simply getting a lot of properties (websites) out there on the web, throwing links at them and seeing what works. This doesn't mean that you have to go out and buy hundreds of websites, but you can open up free ones (like this one) and work with it. If you keep throwing stuff out there and building links to it, eventually you'll find a winner. It is the winner that is going to make cash and all you have to do is start putting more effort into it.

This is pretty much a tried, tested and true method that has been proven to work over the years when it comes to websites. Instead of putting all your effort into a website you're not even sure will make you any dough, you just try out a lot and see what has potential.

How to Make Cash Online for Free

I thought I could show you how to make cash, but do it completely free. The internet is probably one of the few places where you can actually start earning before you actually have to invest anything. I'm not saying that you shouldn't invest. I think you should definitely do that, but you're probably looking for proof. And when I say proof, I mean the proof that you can actually make cash online. You can hear about the success stories from other people, but until you actually do it, it's something that you'll be cautious about.

Normally, I'd tell people to do a little keyword research and buy a domain name. The cost of a domain name is roughly $7-10 per year. Plus you'll need hosting, which can cost anywhere between $2-$20 per month. The great thing is that you can just get this for free at a number of sites. This blog is actually hosted on a free service provided by Google known as Blogger. It gives me a website address, hosting and the software to run it. You just sign up and make cash online now.

How to Make Cash

Most people think that the key to starting a successful business is coming up with what they're selling, how they'll do that, and how much cash they could make. This type of thinking is wrong. You should be thinking about the market, customers and how you can get them to your site. When you're starting out, go in a very small niche of the market. If you're curious what niche means, it is just a smaller section of a market.

For example, if weight loss were the market than a niche of that would be weight loss for pregnant women. The reason that you can make cash online this way is that you can more precisely target the audience. If I was a pregnant woman, than in the back of my mind I might be thinking that a regular weight loss might not be safe. Another reason is that the niches are less competitive. Let's face it, weight loss is probably the bigger market out there for stuff to sell and competing with big companies is tough. If you want to make real cash, you go into niche or a sub-niche and really dominate it.

Keyword Research

Just as you would want foot traffic into a local business, you're going to want visitors to your site. That means you want search engines like Google to send you related traffic to your site for free. That is how you're going to make cash instantly. But you won't make a cent until you've actually ranked in Google (or other search engines) for a great term.

Many people get the idea that they're going to give their site a cool name. Cool names only confuse search engines. If I'm searching Google for leopard skin lamp shades (very sub niche) than Google would like to see those words on the site and the title of your site is big. If I have a site named "Leopard Skin Lamp Shades" and you have a site called "Shades Above The Rest", who do you think Google would view as a more valuable site when searching that term? The answer is obvious.

If you want to make serious cash online than you need to focus on the keywords people will be searching. If you go back a few years ago, it was quite difficult to determine exactly what people were searching. Sites like Google weren't sharing the search volumes. So it was difficult to determine what was getting searched several thousand times a month and another keyword that would be searched a hundred times a month.

The good news is that Google has released a keyword tool. All you want to do is type in the niche you're interested in (like lamp shades) and see what comes up. After you do a search, you should see something that says "Match Type" and it will be set to "Broad". You'll want to change that to "Exact" and it should give you decent estimate on the search volume.

The amount of volume you'll need to make cash online today will be dependent on the niche, but starting out usually means that you will go with low volume. As someone that is a little better at this, I usually go for a minimum of 3000 per month, but since you're new I'd probably hang around 1000 per month or below.

For example, "cheap lamp shades" will get around 1000 searches a month, so call your site that. Make posts about cheap lamp shades and try to include in some other words that aren't searched much like "yellow lamp shades" or "globe lamp shades". Eventually Google, and other search engines, will figure out that your site is relevant to your main keyword and it will start sending you traffic.

You also have to do link building, so take a look on my post titled make cash by link building.

Where do I Make my Site?

Okay, at this point you already picked out your niche and found great keywords that you want to use. The next step on how to make cash from home is putting up a site and how you do that for free. There are many different sites that allow you to put up content. Some will function like blogs and others will just be regular stand alone pages. Here is a list of some of the more popular free places to create a site and make real cash on the internet.

There are many more sites out there that you could use, but keeping this list simple will probably be better for you. You can start building sites, while learning how to make extra cash. This is how you get started. Once you get the site up, you should start doing link building which shows search engines that other people find your site useful.

I also wanted to tell you what to do after you see a little success. Many people get a site to make cash online and they'll sit around trying to nurse the site, so it will make even more. The best way to do this is to just make another site and do the same thing. It's much easier to get 10 sites making $10 a day than it is to get 1 site to make $100 a day.

Make Cash by Link Building

Well, to all my faithful readers at my other site, you can actually start reading here. I've put the other site on hold while I start doing a little link building. I have to get my other site some sort of authority, so that I actually start ranking for the keywords I am out to get. Making cash online is all about the traffic you can get from the search engines, so obviously that is what I have to do. I'll get the traffic to my site and worry about how I can monetize it.

I know many of you want to make cash tonight while you're on the internet and there really isn't a way to do that, which is productive or at least valuable for your time. You can fill out stupid surveys for pennies and make next to nothing. I suppose that is fine if you're looking to make some spare cash, but if you want to make real money, like the kind you can pay bills with, than you need to put in work. In particular, you need to do link building.

Anyone can put up a blog on the internet and start writing. You may have even given it a shot. It's a little more difficult to get readers. But maybe you did. Maybe you had loyal readers that came to your site everyday and you assumed that you would be able to make made cash. And what happened? You didn't make anything. The money is really in, not the readers that visit your site every day, but in the search engines that send you fresh traffic. People that visit your site will not help you out any. They may help you make spare cash, but that's about it.

Make Cash Daily

Isn't that what it is all about? I don't want to have to slave away at a job to make a living. I'd rather earn it on the internet on a daily basis. If you want to make any significant amount then you're going to have to make something on a daily basis. Only a few dollars a day will add up over the long run. Just a dollar a day can be enough to make holiday cash to buy Christmas presents and that sort of thing. But it only really works if you're getting something daily. It's not like you're going to make $100 one day and go months without anything. You need to make cash on the internet every single day. Even if it is a few dollars, that all adds up into a large amount.

Do you think the richest webmasters in the world are making piles of cash from just one website? I'm sure some are, but most of them don't. Most have an empire of sites, but the value is in the numbers. They're able to make serious cash by having a lot of sites getting a little bit of cash each. It all starts to add up and bring value.

The first step is to start getting all your sites to make cash daily because that's all that counts. Even if it is just a nickel. You just have to keep working away at it and you'll eventually get more and more each day, until you have a business that is supplementing your income.

How to Make Extra Cash

I want to let you know that you don't need to go out and buy a ton of domain names. That does cost money and I know that you probably don’t want to invest that kind of cash. The value really comes from your link building and the amount of pages you have online. I don't like the term 'site' to be honest. I prefer to call it virtual real estate. The more pages of content you have on the web, the more content that gets indexed by search engines and that gives you the ability to make cash on Google and its traffic.

There are free places to put up your content, so you don't have to pay for anything like this. This very site is on one of those platforms. It is known as Blogger and it is run by Google. It is a free blogging platform that you can start writing on and it will help you make spare cash. They also have Adsense integration built in, so if you have an Adsense account you can start making cash online very soon.

Another popular place today that you can use is a site known as Hubpages. This is a little different than blogger because you're not actually making a blog this way. You're just making stand alone pages on subjects of your choice. If you want to show people how to make cash from home than you just set up a hub and you write on the subject. It really isn't that hard.

Many people like going this route because they don't have to set up anything. You can just sign up an account in about 30 seconds and then you start right into creating content and your site.

The fact is that you can make cash right now and it all comes down to you putting in the necessary work to achieve it. You're going to create content that people will actually want to visit and read. Once you finish that you have to start link building to the content. It is the link building that tells the search engines that your content is more important than other people's content. Just because you write a long detailed article on how to make extra cash, it doesn't mean that Google, Yahoo or Bing will give your site any attention. Every link that you get to your site will be viewed as a vote. Obviously, not all votes are equal, but that is what link building is in a nutshell. It is the fundamental part of being able to get traffic to your site and being able to make cash.
